National Award for Life Author Tom Caluori

On Tuesday 21st July the Barbican Centre played host to an evening full of celebration and reflection for those attending the Celebrating Young People Awards Ceremony. Tom Caluori, author of the popular post-Confirmation course Life was just one of those receiving an award from Baroness Sheila Hollins and RT Hon Ruth Kelly in the presence of Cardinal Vincent Nichols.

The Life author has been involved with the Catholic Youth Service throughout his career teaching RE and as school chaplain. When not being a chaplain, catechist or champion for the entire Croydon Deanery Youth Project! Tom can be seen devoting a huge amount of his time and energy into running events for young Catholics. In his nomination for this award it says, Tom is “a natural leader and a passionate, dedicated and inspiring youth worker...”  “Tom deserves to be recognised for his service to the Church” –

 It is no wonder he was awarded the Catholic Youth Ministry Federation (CYMFED) national award for “Inspiring Youth Leader.”

The Young People’s awards is organised by the charity “Million Minutes” in partnership with St Mary’s University Twickenham and was put in place to inspire young people to reflect on how Catholic social teaching is being lived out and we can all embrace the guidelines it promotes.


Life: A Post-Confirmation Course for Teenagers
